About The Blogger

I started blogging back in 2012, as a way to preserve my recipes. I wanted to get the recipes, out of my head, and onto paper; so my children could replicate my recipes, should I pass away. I didn't realize how many recipes I had!

To honor our heritage, I began documenting other family member's recipes: Marion's Persimmon Cookies, Patsy's Chili Beans, and Mom's Enchilada Stack became favorites. I always honored the original recipe, once on paper. This built consistency. The recipes on my blog are tried, true, and tested. They've been made numerous times.

Every day I'm thinking of new and exciting recipes. I may be inspired by a trip to the grocery store. A new bakery may entice me to make my own version of a pastry, in the showcase. I'm not trying to duplicate recipes; because we cook and bake according to our liking. After I create an inspiration recipe, it's better than the original.

I have some strong suits to share, in cooking and baking:
My recipes are written in an easy to understand format.
I include full demonstration videos, for all my recipes.
My recipes are tried, true, and tested.
I include numerous tips and techniques, in every video.
I guide you through each step of the recipe.
45 years of cooking, and baking, experience.

My hope is the same, as when I started blogging. My children will have a solid collection of recipes, that I've built. They can add them to their own collection. What a joy it is to see my children, cooking and baking! The grandchildren, as well. I'd like to think I gave them a little bit of inspiration.
